THE AWARDS JUST KEEP COMING FOR GRANDVIEW PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS. THE KC CHAPTER OF AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CIVIL ENGINEERS NAMED THE MO HWY-150 OUTER ROADS IMPROVEMENTS “2016 PROJECT OF THE YEAR” ON TUESDAY, APRIL 11.

THE PROJECT IS A GAME CHANGER FOR CITY PROJECTS. BURNS & MCDONNELL AND KISSICK CONSTRUCTION TEAMED UP FOR THE $2.6 MILLION DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT. IT WAS THE FIRST DESIGN-BUILD FOR MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MoDOT) FOR A LOCAL PUBLIC AGENCY. MoDOT PAID FOR ROUGHLY HALF OF THE PROJECT.

THE IMPROVEMENTS EXTENDED AND REALIGNED OUTER ROADS RUNNING ALONG I-49, AND ADDED A LIGHTED PEDESTRIAN TUNNEL AND A BICYCLE REPAIR STATION TO THE PARK AND TRAIL SYSTEM ALONG HWY-150. THE IMPROVEMENTS PROVIDE A WALKABLE AND BICYCLE-FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT WITH EXCELLENT ACCESS TO FUTURE BUSINESSES.

IN FEBRUARY, THE AMERICAN PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION-KC CHAPTER NAMED THE MO HWY-150 OUTER ROAD IMPROVEMENTS “BEST 2017 PUBLIC WORKS TRANSPORTATION PROJECT” UNDER $5 MILLION. THE PROJECT IS NOW COMPETING AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL.

VIDEO OF THE PROJECT CAN BE FOUND ON THE CITY’S YOUTUBE CHANNEL: CITYOFGRANDVIEW.
