How do I get my license plates renewed as quickly as possible?
Avoid long lines at the License Bureau by being prepared and not waiting until the end of the month to renew your tags, or by handling the process by mail according to the directions on your renewal form. Make sure you have the following items with you before standing in line:
- A renewal form, title or registration from the immediate preceding year
- A vehicle safety inspection less than 60 days old, unless this is the first annual
renewal of a new motor vehicle.
- A personal property tax receipt or tax clearance from the county in which you
resided on January 1 of the previous year. If you have not paid your personal
property tax yet or have lost your receipt, you can take care of that at the City
and County Collections Office Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM
in Grandview City Hall.
- Current proof of insurance
The license bureau accepts cash and pre-printed checks (checks that have your name on them) only. For hours of operation and additional information, check out the State Licensing Office.
