FWI Community Recycling now accepts electronic waste and glass. The recycling center at 4280 Main St. will be open to the public for e-waste and glass collection daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., except Wednesdays and Sundays when it's closed.
The kick-off date for glass collection was Friday, November 6. There is a purple bin located outside the FWI recycle center and that's where all glass should be placed.
The kick-off date for e-waste collection was Saturday October 17, 2009. Participants can recycle CPUs, laptops, computer accessories, cell phones and ink cartridges free of charge. A $5.00 fee will be assessed for hard drive drilling, which securely destructs content. Printers, fax machines, scanners, VCRs and DVD players can be recycled for $5. Computer monitors, large printers, and televisions 19” or smaller are $12.00. TVs 20” or larger cost $15 and console TVs are $20. Please note that fees may be paid with cash only.
