The Federal government is working to establish a new facility for the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA), adjacent to Grandview’s southern border (and just to the north of the CenterPoint KCS Intermodal Center. The operation will be operated by Honeywell Corporation.

Honeywell NNSA’s new facility is projected to cost $500,000,000. It will consist of approximately 1.1 million square feet of high-tech building space. A developer has been chosen for the plant and construction is expected to commence in 2010, with the facility to be completed in 2012.


The NNSA facility will be a new “high tech” type of industry to the Grandview area. It is projected to create 2,711 new jobs, paying an average salary of $95,000 per year.
