The City of Grandview is accepting applications for the full-time position of Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for providing administrative and office support to the Mayor and the City Administrator’s Office. The City of Grandview is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
GENERAL DUTIES: Performs administrative, office management, and secretarial tasks. Prepares Mayor and Board agenda packets, coordinates payroll, Workers Compensation program, and maintains departmental financial records and accounts; coordinates travel plans; and prepares reports, purchase orders, ordinances and general correspondence. Also answers questions and inquiries from the public, and maintains departmental records. A key function of this position is managing various special projects for the Mayor and the City Administrator. This position has supervisory responsibility for the receptionist.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must have at least five years of executive level administrative staff support experience plus exceptional writing, communication, and editing skills, with a strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access software; knowledge of modern office practices; the ability to effectively interact with the public. Experience in public administration, office management or secretarial science is a plus. An AA degree or higher is preferred.
PAY RANGE: $30,651 - $43,407/year depending on experience and qualifications plus an excellent benefit package.
