The SWAT team is commanded by Captain Richard Rodgers and supervised by Sergeant Martin Studdard and Sergeant Brandon Grantham. The Team is staffed with 14 police officers and 2 tactically trained paramedics from the Grandview Fire Department. The team is a part-time team with full-time dedication.

The mission of the SWAT team is to save lives and each member of the team is 100% committed to their mission. All members are carefully selected and receive over 200 hours of tactical training per year to maintain a high level of proficiency and a constant state of readiness. Team members are issued specialized equipment and weapons to carry out a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to High Risk Warrant Services, Barricaded Subjects, High Risk Surveillances and Hostage Rescues.
