The City of Grandview, Missouri is looking for a Part-time Detention Officer. The purpose of this position is to perform specialized inmate detention and care work in the Grandview Police Detention Center under the supervision of Police Sergeant.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Law enforcement experience preferred but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Detention Officer receives inmates; acts as booking officer; oversees the security and activities of inmates; supervises meals and cleaning of facilities; distributes personal property; transports inmates for interviews, court or release; monitors inmate’s medical status and takes appropriate action when illness or injury is suspected; supervisors the purchase and distribution of snack items; searches incoming property; releases inmates on bond; supervises inmates cleaning and maintenance of detention facilities; oversees visitors for inmates; prepares prisoners for court appearance; transports prisoners to and from court; and assists during court when available and as needed with the security of the prisoners.
Pay & Benefits
Starting pay is $20.54 hourly.
