Parks Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Parks Maintenance Technician to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of parks, athletic fields, facilities, landscaping, and public grounds. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining public spaces, and values serving the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Mow, trim, prune, and maintain park grounds and landscaped areas
- Water, weed, and care for flower beds and plantings
- Clean and maintain park facilities, restrooms, playgrounds, shelters, bleachers, picnic areas, and other public amenities
- Pick up litter and ensure parks remain clean and inviting
- Assist with athletic field preparation, including dragging, lining, and setting bases
- Set up and tear down equipment and supplies for events and shelter rentals
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, tools, and vehicles
- Identify and report safety hazards and assist in maintaining a safe environment for visitors
- Assist with snow removal and emergency operations as needed
- Provide courteous customer service to park visitors
- Perform general labor and maintenance duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and physical examination
Preferred
- One year of grounds maintenance, landscaping, parks maintenance, or related experience
Skills & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures
- Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and hand tools
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Compensation & Benefits
Starting Pay: $18.85 per hour
