Light Grill, Not Fireworks

Post Date:06/27/2016 11:09 AM

If you live in Grandview city limits you can light the grill this 4th of July holiday, but not fireworks.

Fire Marshal Lew Austin reminds everyone it is ILLEGAL to set off fireworks within the city limits of Grandview. While there is one fireworks stand in Grandview, each person purchasing fireworks there must sign a waiver stating they won't shoot them off in the City.

If police catch you setting off fireworks, officers will confiscate them and can write you a ticket, or even place you under arrest if you're a repeat offender. Parents, make sure you know what your kids are up to because officers can cite you if your  kids are caught with fireworks.

Fireworks are only legal when an individual, business or group applies for and purchases a permit. Even  then are restrictions that need to be met.
