The Road Ahead:
Look around Grandview and you can see the improvements: a newly revitalized Main Street, a new 155th Street, and new outer roads along Highway 150 to name a few.
Since 1986, Grandview voters have approved a ½-cent Transportation Sales Tax to provide the City a source of revenue for construction of new roads, other transportation-related projects, and ongoing maintenance of existing streets. On June 2, 2020 this renewal will once again be placed before the voters.
Grandview Chamber Board of Directors voted unanimously to support the renewal. This is not a new tax, but a renewal of a current tax set to expire June 30, 2021, pending renewal by Grandview voters. If approved, the terms would be the same as past renewals: a ½-cent tax would be collected on retail goods sold in the City limits and the funds could ONLY be used on transportation-related projects and maintenance. How would Grandview use the funds? The 10-year plan and more information on the ballot measure are at www.buildingtomorrowscommunity.com
