COVID-19 Impacts June 2 Election

COVID-19 has impacted everything and everybody to some extent and the upcoming municipal election on June 2 is no different. 

In response to the virus, the Jackson County Election Board is consolidating polling locations to two sites in Grandview: The View Community Center and Grandview High School. 

  • Precincts 1-7 vote at Grandview High School,  2300 High Grove

  • Precincts 8-12 vote at The View, 13500 Byars Road

The Jackson County Election Board will be mailing a poll information letter to voters the week of May 18th.  Most likely your polling location for this election has changed.  

Voters can view their sample ballot, check their registration status and polling location by visiting:

Poll workers will be provided with masks, face shields and gloves. The tables, door handles, and other commonly touched surfaces will be disinfected regularly.  Each voter will be offered hand sanitizer as they enter the polling location by sanitizing judges. Instead of “I Voted” stickers, each voter will receive an “I Voted” stylus pen to sign the poll pad and vote their ballot.

May 20th is the last day to request an absentee ballot for the June 2nd Election.  Absentee information can be found at Absentee voters can request a mail-in ballot, or vote in person at the Jackson County Election Board located at 215 N. Liberty Street in Independence
