No other hazardous waste will be accepted. To dispose of hazardous waste contact the Lee's Summit Resource Recovery Park at (816) 550-1612 or view information and details below.

Note: The City of Grandview does not provide any other type of trash service, including bulk pick up. Citizens independently contract with the private trash hauler of their choice for trash service.

Adopt-A-Street

Grandview is looking for any individuals, groups, or businesses to adopt a street. Participants in Adopt-A-Street get to choose a stretch of street (a minimum of 1/2 mile) to call their own for two years . The commitment requires potential street parents to pick up trash at least five times a year in the area. For the work and effort, the City will place a free sign along the adopted area featuring the name of the group and even business logos.

The City will provide trash bags and safety vests for all clean-ups.

The first step is filling out an application (below) which includes all the steps to officially adopting a street. Interested applicants can also contact Public Works at (816) 316-4838 with any questions. Please allow one to two weeks for review and approval.

Waste Oil Disposal

For their convenience, citizens of Grandview are provided with a year-round waste drop-off site. Citizens may dispose of up to five gallons of waste oil at the Public Works Maintenance Facility at 7000 East 139th Street (139th Street & Winchester Avenue) Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Citizens must take waste oil containers away with them after disposal. Call 816-560-7779 to schedule a drop-off time.

Household Hazardous Waste Disposal

Hazardous Materials Grandview residents can take hazardous waste to a collection site in Lee's Summit for a reimbursable fee of up to $50 once per calendar year. Such waste* includes:

Automotive fluids (all types)
Batteries
Household cleaners
Fluorescent bulbs
Fertilizers, Herbicides, and Pesticides
Paint and related products
Mercury thermometers/thermostats
Pool and spa chemicals

Facility does not accept:	explosives, ammunition, fireworks , yard waste, medical waste, sharps, fire extinguishers, smoke or carbon monoxide detectors, pressurized gas cylinders, asbestos, tires, appliances, styrofoam, electronic scrap, containers larger than 5 gallons.
Hours:	No appointment needed Mon. - Fri. 7:30 a.m.– 4:00 p.m.*
Who can bring waste:	Grandview residents. Must bring ID with proof of residency.
How to get reimbursed:	Submit your receipt at Grandview Public Works to be reimbursed by the City for HHW disposal up to $50.

Yard Waste Disposal

The City of Grandview does not provide curb pick-up of trash or yard waste. Contact your waste disposal provider for yard waste disposal prices, or bring your yard waste to one of the City's Clean-up Days for $20/load.

As an option, the City of Kansas City, MO has three yard waste disposal sites and will accept yard waste for a fee. More information is at the link below.
