Grandview is looking for any individuals, groups, or businesses to adopt a street. Participants in Adopt-A-Street get to choose a stretch of street (a minimum of 1/2 mile) to call their own for two years . The commitment requires potential street parents to pick up trash at least five times a year in the area. For the work and effort, the City will place a free sign along the adopted area featuring the name of the group and even business logos.

The City will provide trash bags and safety vests for all clean-ups. 

The first step is filling out an application (below) which includes all the steps to officially adopting a street. Interested applicants can also contact Public Works at (816) 316-4838 with any questions. Please allow one to two weeks for review and approval.

For their convenience, citizens of Grandview are provided with a year-round waste drop-off site. Citizens may dispose of up to five gallons of waste oil at the Public Works Maintenance Facility at 7000 East 139th Street (139th Street & Winchester Avenue) Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Citizens must take waste oil containers away with them after disposal. Call 816-560-7779 to schedule a drop-off time. 

The City of Grandview does not provide curb pick-up of trash or yard waste. Contact your waste disposal provider for yard waste disposal prices, or bring your yard waste to one of the six scheduled City's Clean-up Days at Raptor Recycle and Transfer for a fee per vehicle, per drop-off. Proof of residency is required. As an option, the City of Kansas City, MO has three yard waste disposal sites and will accept yard waste for a fee. More information is at the link below.

Residents can talk to their waste disposal company to see if they provide curbside recycling services. Another option is the nearest drop-off recycling facility located at 5200 E. Red Bridge Road. The South Kansas City facility is operated by Bridging the Gap and is open Wednesday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information visit their website: www.bridgingthegap.org/recycle.
