Rodney McDuffie II is a career public servant, loving husband, and proud father who now serves as Alderman for Grandview’s 3rd Ward. Born and raised in Grandview, Rodney attended C.A. Burke Elementary School and Smith-Hale Middle School in the Hickman Mills School District before graduating from Raymore-Peculiar High School in 2013. Rodney earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Northwest Missouri State University in 2017 and his Master of Public Affairs, in Public Policy from the University of Missouri in 2019, where he was selected as a Thurgood Marshall Fellow. His academic journey reflects a deep commitment to public service, fairness, and civic responsibility.

Professionally, Rodney brings experience across local, state, and federal government, as well as the private sector. He has worked with the Kansas City Land Bank on neighborhood revitalization, served as a legislative assistant to former Missouri State Representative Alan Green, and supported veterans through his work at the Department of Veterans Affairs. At the federal level, he has also assisted communities in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.

In addition to public service, Rodney helped managed his family-owned, MBE/WBE-certified construction business, gaining hands-on experience in project coordination, budgeting, workforce management, and client relations. This work gave him a practical understanding of how city decisions impact small businesses, housing, and working families. 

Rodney is married to his wife, Lizz McDuffie, and is the proud father of Evelyn Jean McDuffie. Becoming a parent has deepened his commitment to service and strengthened his vision for the future. As Alderman, he is dedicated to "Building a City with a Grander view". One that listens, earns trust, and delivers for every resident.
