The Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) Program is a 13 week program that covers a wide variety of topics for 6th Grade student attending Grandview Middle School. The gang and violence prevention program is built around school-based, law enforcement officer-instructed classroom curricula and is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership for children in the years immediately before the prime ages for introduction into gangs and delinquent behavior. Partnerships encourage positive relationships among the community, parents, schools, and law enforcement officers.
G.R.E.A.T. began in 1991 and implemented by the Phoenix Arizona Police Department with great success.
The G.R.E.A.T. Program is taught by certified instructor MPO Brian Bradley. He will teach nearly 200 6th Grade students in the G.R.E.AT. curriculum during each school year.
